Q:  What about the Class C Airspace over Pearson?

A:  The class C airspace is for nearby Portland international Airport (PDX).  There is a cutout in the class C airspace to the northwest of PDX for airplanes arriving and departing Pearson.  The ceiling of the cutout is 1100 MSL, pattern altitude at Pearson is 1000 MSL.

When arriving, we recommend calling Portland Approach for flight following within 20 miles of the airport.  It is easiest to use the cutout by planning your approaches and departures from the Northwest, but it is also possible to transition the class D airspace by calling Portland tower (they are very friendly, especially if you tell them up front you are unfamiliar with the area).

More info about the cutout at http://www.aeromt.com/airport.html

Q:  Where will we be parking our airplanes?

A:  We’ll park along the North-South taxiway that leads from the runway to the Pearson Air Museum (see diagram below).  Fuel is self-serve pumps, so top off prior to parking.  See “PEARSON FIELD  (KVUO) AIRPORT INFO” section for a diagram.

Q:  Can I attend even if I don’t fly a Cherokee?

A:  Of Course!  Our fly-in is meant to be a casual, almost-unstructured event, for the purpose of networking and learning better ways to fly and maintain our airplanes.

Although primarily for the benefit of pilots and owners of Piper Cherokees, the fly-in is open to anyone - the more interesting the airplane, the better!
