"A major advantage the Zeftronics
regulator has over competing units is that its output is
short-circuit protected. What that means is if the field wire chafes
and shorts to ground (mine did) or the alternator gets an internal
short to ground, it won't destroy the regulator (it trips an
electronic fold-back that essentially turns the regulator off until
the power is cycled). The (previous) regulator I had in my airplane
does not have that protection, and even a very brief short to ground
destroys the output transistor in the regulator. I'm not sure the
Plane power regulator has output short circuit protection. If it
does not, then I wouldn't buy it. Even if it does, the Zeftronics
regulators are PMA'd for your airplane and have an excellent track
record. Why go with anything else?" Ray N3351W
If you need a regulator get the
Zeftronics". Joe@TAN
I also installed the Zeftronics
Regulator with built in overvoltage sensor. This box was also very
easy to install, with only 2 wires to hook up. My installation was
inspected by an A/P on Friday, and he signed off my log book. Both
of these items are PMA'd, so only require a log book sign off". Mike
